1. Our Cougar Commitment: Child Safety & Wellbeing

At East Keilor Football Club, every child and young person matters.

We’re committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where kids can enjoy football and umpiring while being respected, heard, and supported.

We have zero tolerance for abuse or harm.

We celebrate cultural diversity, including the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and value the vital role families play in our Club.

Your child’s health, safety, and wellbeing always come first, and keeping them safe is something we all share responsibility for staff, coaches, volunteers, families, and the whole Club community.

At East Keilor Football Club, we recognise our responsibility to all players, supporters, and parents within our community.

We proudly uphold the standards outlined in the Essendon District Football League Code of Conduct, which provides a clear and comprehensive overview of behavioural expectations for all members of our football community.

3. Our Cougar Commitment: Respecting our Volunteers

At East Keilor Football Club, we recognise that our volunteers are vital to the success and spirit of our club. We are committed to treating every volunteer with respect, fairness, and appreciation.

We will:

  • Listen to volunteers’ ideas, concerns, and feedback with an open mind
  • Acknowledge and value the time, effort, and expertise they contribute
  • Provide clear guidance, support, and training to help them perform their roles confidently
  • Ensure all players, parents, and other members treat volunteers respectfully at all times
  • Celebrate and recognise volunteer achievements and contributions publicly where appropriate

 By respecting our volunteers, we foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute to the club’s success

4. Our Cougar Commitment: Gameday behaviour

At East Keilor Football Club, game day is an opportunity to represent our club with pride, respect, and integrity.

We are committed to ensuring that all players, coaches, parents, and supporters demonstrate positive behaviour at all times. This includes respecting umpires, opposition teams, league officials, volunteers, and fellow supporters.

We will:

  • Encourage and support all players in a positive manner
  • Respect the decisions of umpires without dissent
  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship, win or lose
  • Provide a safe and welcoming environment for families and visitors
  • Uphold the standards set by the Essendon District Football League

 Aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Our actions on game day reflect who we are as a club, and we are proud to model behaviour that supports the development, enjoyment, and wellbeing of all participants.

Together, we create a positive football experience for everyone involved.

  • Communicate openly, honestly, and respectfully
  • Support volunteers, coaches, and players in their roles
  • Address concerns or issues promptly, fairly, and professionally

At East Keilor Football Club, we value parents, carers, families, and friends as essential members of our club community. We encourage your involvement in supporting players, volunteering, and contributing to club activities and decision-making. Your care and participation help create a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for everyone involved.

We maintain regular communication and warmly invite you to attend club events, including games, training sessions, workshops, and social gatherings.
